AKBF/USMTA Promoter John Carlo has been promoting the arts of Kick boxing and Thai Boxing in upstate New York events since 2002. He has found a home with the USMTA and in 2008 and began to promote Thai Boxing and Grappling events with them. He now hosts events monthly in Newburgh, Patterson, Fishkill, Yorktown and other various locations throughout Duchess , Putnam and Westchester counties as well as Saratoga NY and Danbury Ct. The main emphasis of the promotions is to run the USMTA events to give beginners a chance to get into the ring and gain valuable ring experience as they start their way up the 'competitive sports ladder'.

All the amateurs come prepared to exhibit everything they have learned in their studios, schools and camps from their perspective instructors. Any studios in the region that may have beginning kickboxing or Muay Thai students, should consider putting their fighters on this series of competitive events.
John has continued to promote the upstate NY League which has been around for several years, and hosts championship events that offer championship belts for open class winners and 2 foot trophies for Novice class winners which he feels gives young fighters goals to increase there skills and to be the local champions.
